Green card to Finland

A green card is necessary for Ukrainians to travel to Finland, as the country is a member of the European Union and is a participant in the international Green Card insurance system. Traveling within the territory of the state in a personal vehicle without a policy or with a document issued with violations will result in an administrative fine.

The document insures the driver's liability. A documented case of a road accident caused by the insured person gives the victims the right to receive compensation for damage:

• caused to vehicles and/or;
• caused to third parties and/or their property.

Compensation is paid subject to compliance with all rules of conduct and deadlines for drawing up an application.

Cost of a Green Card to Finland

In addition to the country of destination, two factors affect the price:

1. The term of the document, which can vary from 15 days to 1 year.
2. Type and dimensions of the vehicle.

The country of destination also refers to factors that determine the cost of the final product. In this context, there are two types of policies:

• for travel throughout the European Union OR
• for travel through the territory of Russia, Moldova, Azerbaijan or Belarus.

A trip to Finland requires the issuance of type 1 insurance. Violation of this condition will be qualified by the inspection authorities as travel without a policy with all the consequences that follow from this.

Calculation of the amount of compensation

The amount of compensation is regulated by the legislation and legal regulations of the country in whose territory the documented insured event occurred. Note that in the absence of a Green Card, the driver will have to pay for vehicle repairs, as well as the treatment of passengers injured in a road accident on his own.

Rules for issuing a policy

There are increased requirements for issuing a Green Card that protect the policy from fraudulent actions.

There is no electronic version of the document. It is possible to fill in the details and pay for the policy online, but the physical form will be sent to the client at the address of the nearest Nova Poshta branch.

All such insurances are subject to mandatory registration with the MTIBU. If a policy issued after September 1, 2018, is not registered with the Motor Transport Bureau of Ukraine, such a document is considered invalid, and driving with such insurance in hand is equated to driving without insurance.

Filling out the form is done only in printed form, which eliminates ambiguity and the possibility of forgery.
