Green card for 15 days

A green card is a document that insures a driver's liability outside Ukraine. It can be considered an analogue of MTPL, valid abroad in certain countries:

● Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova or Russia;      

● all countries of the European Union.     

A green card for 15 days is necessary for a driver who wants to visit European countries or those included in the first list. It is important to understand that a policy valid for Russia will not be valid for Germany or Romania.

The guarantor of insurance payments is the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIB).

The cost of the policy and its registration

The cost of the document for 15 days will depend on the country of destination, as well as the type of vehicle.

Please note: the document has several levels of protection, and must also be registered with the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine. For this reason, it is impossible to register this document online. Only a cost calculation can be made online, but a specialist in the office will issue the policy.

The document does not have to be filled out by hand. A policy signed after September 1, 2018 and not registered with the MTIBU is considered invalid.

Although this procedure may create some inconvenience for busy people who have a busy schedule, it protects against forgery and fraud and guarantees the legal purity of the purchased document.

What is an insured event?

Even if you apply for a Green Card for 2 weeks, anything can happen on the road.

An insured event is physical or material damage to third parties, as well as damage to their health and/or life as a result of a road accident committed in the territory of a country participating in the international Green Card system.

The liability limit for any damage described above is established in accordance with the legislation of that country participating in the international Green Card system and depends on the specifics of the legal system of the country in whose territory the road accident occurred.
