Green card for 3 months

A green card is an analogue of a CPL policy with one difference: the document insures the driver's civil liability outside Ukraine. It is recommended to apply for a green card for 3 months for drivers who are going to stay abroad for a long time. For example, this may be shift work or short-term training.

There are two types of insurance:

• for travel through the countries that are part of the European Union;
• for travel through Azerbaijan, Russia, Moldova and Belarus.

Driving a personal vehicle in Germany with a policy intended for travel through Russia will be classified as a violation with the corresponding consequences in the form of an administrative fine. In addition, if such a violation is detected when registering a traffic accident, the guilty driver, in addition to the fine, will have to pay for both vehicle repairs and, if necessary, treatment of passengers injured in the accident.

Cost of the policy and its payment limits

It is impossible to specify the exact cost of insurance in advance, since it depends on a number of factors:

1. The term for which the Green Card is issued. It can vary from 15 days to one year. Therefore, issuing a Green Card for 3 months is permissible.
2. Country of destination. Two different types of policies were discussed above.
3. Dimensions of the vehicle and its engine capacity.

Rules for issuing a Green Card insurance policy for 3 months

The Green Card cannot be issued entirely via the Internet. You can enter your data and pay for the purchase online, but the physical policy form will be sent to the client at the address of the nearest Nova Poshta branch.

Filling out forms by hand is prohibited. All certificates, without exception, must be registered with the Motor Transport Bureau of Ukraine. A policy issued after September 1, 2018 and not registered with MTIBU is automatically invalid.
