"AXA Insurance" leaves the Ukrainian market

The French group AXA announced its exit from the Ukrainian market. Its companies "AXA Insurance" and "AXA Life Insurance" will be sold to the Canadian Fairfax Financial Holding Limited.

The completion of the transaction will depend on the fulfillment of the relevant closing conditions, including obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.

AXA Insurance is one of the leaders in the Ukrainian insurance market. According to the results of 2017, the company took first places in terms of net gross premiums, insurance payments, in the CASCO insurance market, as well as in insurance of individuals. The company serves about 500 thousand clients.

AXA Group is a global leader in insurance and asset management, employing 160 thousand employees worldwide, serving 105 million clients in 62 countries.

Fairfax Holding, headquartered in Toronto, has been engaged in insurance, reinsurance and investment management since 1985. The chairman and CEO of the holding is Prem Vatsa. The holding operates in 40 countries around the world.
