Mandatory insurance of car owners, better known to the people as "auto insurance", was introduced in our country in 2005, since then the rates of MTPL in Ukraine have already increased twice: in 2010 and 2015, and the last time the prices for auto insurance doubled. Although many condemn this decision of officials, this is not a reason to refuse an insurance policy. If law enforcement officers catch you in violation of the law regulating MTPL, then for the lack of car insurance, they will issue a fine of 425 to 850 hryvnias, and this amount may correspond to 50-100% of the cost of the policy.

We have already mentioned what criteria form the basic MTPL insurance tariff for 2016. Now the Ukrainian authorities, represented by the MTIBU, have proposed two initiatives that may cause a new change in the MTPL tariff for 2016 - to allow free pricing in the insurance market by canceling the maximum coefficient for motor third-party liability insurance and to launch an electronic insurance policy by the end of this year. If the volatility of insurance policy pricing is a concern for some car owners, then the introduction of an electronic insurance policy should definitely please all drivers.
